It is reported that the center has participated in the formulation of more than 50 technical standards for rare earth industry, including two international standards, which indicates that China has become the first country in the world to participate in the formulation of international standards for rare earth while successfully realizing the breakthrough of zero international standards for rare earth in China.

It is understood that the national new material testing and evaluation platform has been established in Baotou Rare Earth Research Institute for nearly two years, and more than 70 advantageous innovation units and testing and evaluation institutions in the rare earth industry have participated in the construction. Starting from the demand of high-end new materials in the national major engineering field, the platform escorts the industrial development in the aspects of test and evaluation ability, method and standard system, common key technology, public service ability, etc.

"This is the only national level test platform named after rare earth in the domestic industry, aiming to solve the problems of imperfect test and evaluation system in the production, application and development of new rare earth materials, and insufficient ability of sharing human resources and equipment resources in the industry. With this platform, a complete evaluation system for the development of rare earth new material industry in terms of test and evaluation, product demonstration and service guarantee can be formed. According to reports, the national new material testing and evaluation platform rare earth industry center has been built for two years, with an investment of more than 100 million yuan. It has successively introduced major key testing and evaluation equipment urgently needed for the development and application of new rare earth materials, and has more than 200 key parameters testing and evaluation capabilities for new rare earth materials. At present, the center is aiming at the forefront of new material testing and evaluation technology, supporting the application of high-end new materials such as rare earth steel, high-purity target materials and high-performance samarium cobalt materials in Daxing airport, OLED display, aerospace and other fields.

Li Zhiqiang said: "at present, we are carrying out evaluation and Simulation on the performance of rare earth magnetism, hydrogen storage, polishing, high-purity rare earth metal compounds and other optical functional materials in the service process. We are also carrying out services around the needs of the national rare earth new material industry, establishing service outlets in advantageous areas, and initially planning to set up service outlets in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and Hunan South and other places began to carry out the layout of some related service outlets.
