Terminal handling efficiency is an important index to measure the competitiveness of a port. Since the beginning of November 26, 2017, Qingdao has been the world leader in terms of container handling efficiency, which has been running for more than one hour. Since the beginning of this year, the automation terminal has made continuous innovation and breakthrough, and successively launched a number of independent innovation achievements, such as "intelligent analysis and decision-making platform" and "intelligent AGV dispatching system", which have helped to steadily improve the efficiency of on-site operation.

Up to now, LIANGANG innovation team, the core team of Qingdao port automated terminal planning, construction and operation, has accepted and authorized 124 patents, 6 of which have reached the international leading position, constructed the first "automated container terminal standard system" in China, and developed 6 international standards, 3 industry standards and 4 group standards. On June 22 this year, the Publicity Department of Qingdao municipal Party committee awarded LIANGANG innovation team the title of "Qingdao model". On August 31, the Publicity Department of Shandong provincial Party committee awarded LIANGANG innovation team the title of "Qilu era model". On December 15, 2020, Zhang Gang won the title of "the most leading scientific and technological worker in Qilu".
